Mr. Keiser
After graduating from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, Mr. Keiser began his career as a 7th grade social studies teacher in May of 2000 at Robert R. Lazar Middle School in Montville, New Jersey. Mr. Keiser remained in Montville and served as a Team Leader, Basketball and Baseball coach, and eventually Assistant Principal beginning in the summer of 2007 after graduating with Masters in Administration and Supervision from Montclair State University. Mr. Keiser has been the Principal of FAMS since February, 2011. Mr. Keiser has continued the fine reputation of FAMS and continues to look for ways to improve the educational opportunities delivered to the students of Franklin Lakes. Since Mr. Keiser has taken over as Principal, FAMS has restructured to provide a true middle school experience with teaming at all three grade levels, implemented a 1:1 Student Laptop program, expanded the 5th grade transition program, and established stronger ties among educators at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. While also continuing the fine academic tradition, Mr. Keiser has also helped to provide the students with highly successful character education program, including the nationally awarded Living Lessons program he started in 2005, and the implementation of a strong character education program with Student Leadership groups, strengthened the safety and security of the building, and partnered with the Education Foundation and FAMS PTA to offer new, exciting programs and materials for middle school students. In the classroom, Mr. Keiser has encouraged the staff at FAMS to develop innovative and engaging lessons which includes the incorporation of technology, problem and project based learning, and cross curricular activities. Mr. Keiser continues to support the wonderful, talented, and dedicated educators of Franklin Lakes as FAMS remains a high achieving institution.
