Week of Respect

 

Week of Respect 2024

October 7-11, 2024

 

The Anti-Bullying Bills of Rights Act designates the week beginning the first Monday in October of each year as a “Week of Respect” in the entire state of New Jersey. School districts are directed to observe the week by providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing harassment, intimidation, or bullying. Below are the activities that FAMS will be participating in during this week. 

All Week - During FAMS Live, quotes will be read each day centering around respecting ourselves and others. 

 

Monday, October 7 - World Bullying Prevention Day “Be Kind, Blue Up” - Students and staff should wear as much blue as possible this day to show our support in spreading kindness, inclusion of others and saying no to bullying, cyberbullying, and prejudice to others. 

Camfel Assembly - all students will see presentation from Camfel entitled “Trust Me” 

 

Tuesday, October 8 - “A Million Thanks” Day - During homeroom and all lunch periods, students will have the opportunity to write a thank you or note of appreciation and support to our military oversees. The letters will be sent to the organization, “A Million Thanks” who will distribute these letters to military members. 

 

Wednesday, October 9 - “Put Bullying To Bed” - Wear your favorite pajamas to school this day! 

 

Thursday, October 10 - “Mismatch Day” - Students and staff are encouraged to wear mismatched clothes to express that we are all unique and all deserve to be respected despite our differences.

 

Friday, October 11 - Pink Out! -Students and staff are invited to wear Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Let’s have a pink out and wear as much as we can!!
