TODAY'S EVENTS: Wednesday, MAY 24, 2017                                              

 

 

PLC - Sign-up for the PLC Memorial Day Celebration in town is found on the FAMS Community Board for any student interested in participating.  As always, volunteers get PLC credit and community service hours.  Check your mail or the PLC website for more info.

8th GRADERS – Each year the Franklin Lakes Republican Club provides a Citizenship Award.  They are requesting that any interested students write a short essay on the following topic: “Why do you think it is important that eligible voters exercise the right to vote?”  If interested, please see the post on the FAMS Community Board to complete the essay.  Return your completed essay to Mrs. Como by May 31st.

PLC will host their annual food drive for the next two weeks in students’ homerooms.  All donations should be non-perishable food and pantry items.  This event is in honor of a former FAMS staff member, Helen Cogger, who organized the food drive, as well as other charitable events, even after her declining health.  Please take this opportunity to help those in need. 

8th GRADERS – If you are interested in playing a sport at Indian Hills High School next year, the IHHS athletic director will be here on Wednesday, May 31st, during your lunch period in the library classroom.   Sign out at the beginning of lunch and head up to the library classroom.

Art  GT Art testing TODAY, Wednesday, May 24th, at 7:30 am or 3:00 pm in the Art Room. GT ART is open to anyone who wants to be in 7th or 8th grade GT ART. Please arrange for prompt pick up at 3:30 pm if you are planning on the afternoon test.  Contact Mrs. Behrens for more details.

Music – 

Chorus –  Meets Friday morning at 7:30 am

Show Choir –  Permission slips are past due.

Handbells – 8th grade will meet today at lunch.  We are ringing today!

Concert Band –  alto saxes – 8th grade has lessons 8th period today

Sports –  Any 8th graders who will be attending Indian Hills next year and are interested in trying out for cheerleading, speak with Miss Flynn or send her an email to receive information. Tryouts begin June 7th,

at IHHS, lower gym, 4:00 – 6:00 pm

Baseball – The team had a great team win over Allendale yesterday, 8 – 5!  See Mr. Jenisch if you have questions.

Dance Team

Environmental Club – will meet on Thursday from 3:00 – 3:30 pm in Room 165.

Stem Club -    7th/8th grade STEM Club will meet TODAY, Wednesday from 3:00 – 3:45 pm in Room 165.  Please have a prompt ride home.  Questions?  See or email Ms. Antonison.
