On Saturday, March 19, 2016, 30 middle school students from New Jersey, including students from Franklin Lakes displayed their knowledge of chemistry concepts, important discoveries, and chemical safety awareness as they competed for a spot in the Chemical Educational Foundation’s® (CEF) National You Be The Chemist (YBTC) Challenge®. The competition this year features grade 5-8 students in the annual New Jersey YBTC Challenge- an academic question and answer competition created by CEF. The Challenge aims to engage middle school students in chemistry through a dynamic event that partners members of the chemical industry with schools and organizations in the communities in which they operate.
