6th Grade S.E.L.F (Social Emotional Learning Foundations)



Mrs. Edson teaches 6th grade Social Studies at Franklin Avenue Middle School. She has been a part of the FAMS faculty since 1999, however she has been teaching middle school for 22 years.

She completed her undergraduate work at William Paterson University, where she majored in Elementary Education and Sociology. In May 2001, she graduated from New York University with a master's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Language and Literacy. Since obtaining her Master's Degree, Mrs. Edson has earned her MA +30 in various teaching strategies.

As a teacher, Mrs. Edson strives to create a love of history for students. She implements a variety of cooperative, differentiated, brain-based learning techniques in her lessons and projects. Organization techniques and study strategies are incorporated into every unit.

Mrs. Edson enjoys quality time with her family, especially her husband and sons, Ryan and Marcus. She loves to read and travel as well.

Office Hours:

First Tuesday of each month 7:30 A.M.-8:00 A.M.

Last Friday of each month 3:00 P.M.-3:30 P.M.
