Assistant Principal's Desk

Mrs. Prunk knew that she wanted to be an educator since the days of "playing school" in her basement in fourth grade.  Her formal training began at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where she studied education and Spanish.  From there, she studied Educational Leadership at William Paterson University.  A lifelong learner, Mrs. Prunk continued to take classes from Regional Training Center in a variety of disciplines, including Cooperative Learning, Assessment Techniques, Multiple Intelligences and Cooperative Discipline.

Mrs. Prunk began her career as an educator in first grade at Woodside Avenue School in Franklin Lakes in 1989.  She continued teaching for 15 years in grades 1-5, being housed in all three elementary schools, and then initiated the elementary Spanish program in grades 2 and 3.

In 2004, Mrs. Prunk became Assistant Principal of Franklin Avenue Middle School, where she continued to enjoy the enthusiasm and spirit of the students, staff, and Franklin Lakes community.  After serving as Interim Principal for five months at Colonial Road School, Mrs. Prunk is once again assuming the Assistant Principal role at FAMS.

Here are two favorite quotes relating to education.

Tell me and I'll forget. Show me, and I may not remember. Involve me, and I'll understand.
Native American Saying

Intelligence plus character--that is the goal of true education.
